New to Climbing

Climbing is one of the most rewarding sports you can try. It is a sport that people of all ages can enjoy. It’s an activity that trains your strength, agility and balance.  If you’re new to climbing, there are a few things you should know.

What to wear

There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing what to wear. First, the clothing should be comfortable and not baggy. You’ll want to make sure that you can move freely in your clothes so that you don’t get stuck on the wall or have anything get caught on it. Nothing with many zippers or buttons is ideal because it could become snagged, so stick with simple designs like a t-shirt and loose pants or shorts.

High heels, sandals, flip flops, ballet flats and other shoes without rubber bottoms are not recommended for climbing either—you need something with some grip! You can just rent climbing shoes from us if you don’t have a pair yourself.

Caution: Side Effects

  • Climbing is an addictive sport
  • You may end up with a toned body and guys especially might even uncover those hidden abs (this means new clothes are needed)
  • You will end up with lots of new friends
  • You may lose your fear of heights
  • Your kids might forego screen time for climb time

You have been warned!
